Further Information

Northern Mythology

Andvari is the name of a dwarf mentioned in the Vǫluspá, Reginsmál and in the Þulur

Loki catches Andvari in his net and he has to buy himself free with gold. Andvari then puts a curse on a gold ring. The gold, the ring and the curse connected to it become the motif which bring about the story of the Nibelungs.
